[GS] Ventus.

Recommended Posts

There was no air to breath in the Plane of Shadows, nor in the Void, there was no warmth or light, only darkness and cold. Koji was a monster bred and grown in death. His endurance for such elements were grandiose, and yet he found complications from Ventus' personal brand. This foreign cold was numbing even to him, sparing him from a lot of the pain that thrashed his serpentine body, causing it to writhe and recoil like the lost tail of a lizard. His fanged maw clinched shit, as did his eyes. As he plummeted, he couldn't even feel that he was in fact crashing through the heavens. As his senses began to fail him, as he questioned his existence for the first time since becoming the man he now was, Ventus' speech was mostly lost on his ears. Though as sure as thunder boomed, the end of her words pierced the veil of his subconscious mind.

"How strong is your will?!”

Suddenly, his eyes snapped open wide! Twisting and turning he recovered from his falling state, realizing he'd dropped the black exalta. Spotting it he dove after it, his wretched maw snapping open before clamping shut with the prism secured in his mouth. Pushing it to his throat with his tongue, the dragon swallowed the prism whole! The luminescence the black exalta granted his scales proved to mutate his yoki and body as a whole, the two sources of energy blending into one; The Black Exalta Prism, and his Soul. Hues ranging from deep and midnight blues to purples of similar nature. His now emissive eyes and roaring maw glowed with the same eldritch nature. Horns grew from the top of his skill, further mutating his appearance.

Hurtling back toards the goading goddess, the chimerical dragon opened his jaws as wide as his head once more, and from the center, a ball of flame appeared. Rapidly the sphere grew in size to the likes of 100 foot diameter. This large fiery orb once mostly to it's maximum size launched from Koji towards the remaining walls and their source. It continued to expand to it's full size which it achieved about half way between Koji and Ventus. With it's large size it hurtled rather slowly, though in this sort of stand offish battle, he doubted Ventus would second guess herself to try and stop it. As maddening as it might appear to her, Koji's body became shrouded in an similar aura, albeit a more dense one. Rocketing through the air in the manner of a torpedo, he raced for the orb he'd launched at Ventus! If allowed to pierce the huge ball of exalta infused flame, the achieved result was the mimicking of an atomic bomb. Couple with the pressure walls between her walls of light, Koji was taking a more kamikaze approach; Placing himself in harm's way in order to blast through her defenses and perhaps even threatening her directly.

Tanking the explosion, Koji resisted being knocked back by the force of it. As soon as he could manage it, he'd resume by advancing once more, aiming to perhaps catch Ventus with her guard down. For being in the air, the clashing energies sure did a fine job of creating debris clouds, even if they were mostly just clumps of smoke lingering in the wake of the residual energies present. The question was, had he destroyed all the wall? Had she made more? What of the calm space that still awaited the Dragon Emperor should he make it beyond those walls?

Given the transforming situation, Ventus was not yet ready to give him the ground yet. Taking from the ten walls left Ventus compressed two light walls and two air walls into one turning it down to 6. Throwing these four walls at Koji and his explosion she altered the shattering quality of the air pressure and instead changed it to implode. Sucking the vast wall of magic energy and fire into itself the light energy snuffed out the magic properties in negation. Thus the smoking debris was few and far between, the space she had once given him to breathe was removed. Shoving the remaining six walls forward his free fall would be his undoing. First he was hit with the last wall of light and pressure which sucked him in like a whirlpool. Throwing him down into the last 4 Magic’s walls his aura was stripped from his flesh and the mind was consumed.

Dropping the right hand down she kept it open gathering power at its epicenter. For Koji his world would splinter as his very reality turned to hell itself. The mental hell of Sarandriel in which the young lord would find himself flung and splattered a thousand times over. The pain center of his body was heightened, for every splatter he would experience rebirth only to be splattered again with no power to call upon. The cries of legions could be heard ringing in his mind as he was subjugated to the mental abuse. What happens to the mind the body will later experience.

He wasn't sure when nor how, but the Emperor was all but certain that he'd met his demise. The varying pain felt both in and outside of his body eventually became overwhelming pain in unison. After various explosions in seriatim, Koji's senses completely left him, his body becoming numb as his eyes rolled into the back of his head. There was nothing at first; No vision nor sound, no feeling whatsoever. Suddenly immense pain found him once more, in which he was violently torn asunder, his body mutilated into hundreds of pieces; A shower of blood and viscera radiating all around his dying body as the pieces fell apart. There was nothing at first; No vision nor sound, no feeling whatsoever. Suddenly immense pain found him once more, in which he was violently torn asunder, his body mutilated into hundreds of pieces; A shower of blood and viscera radiating all around his dying body as the pieces fell apart. There was nothing at first...

Perhaps the Mugen'me would have caught on to the repetitive nature of this immense illusion if it could still truly be called such. Though without it, Koji found himself becoming stuck in a loop. A feat in which it took several times in said loop to even question whether or not he was stuck in one. Uncertainty set in every time he was reborn, and by the time he reached his agonizing death he felt this eerie sense of familiarity. Had he died? Was this the real Jigoku? Was this hell? His eternal prison where his wicked soul was to be punished for all eternity. Was it his personal hell, or one of this world's? If it wasn't hell, what or where was it? Whatever it was, where ever, it felt something like a combination of the Plane of Shadows and the Void, but worse!

At present Koji was well within her grasp, a puddle of atoms and soul within the palm of her hand. Like evolution herself, Ventus began her work on the man. “So you wish to be close to a god..” Her voice mumbled lightly as her very essence began to pull his apart. Within this illusion the tolerance to pain was gained but also lost at the same time. With every reformation he would be forced to watch a version of himself go through the same process; all while following in its demise. A hall of mirrors in his case a cycle of horror watching his insides be splattered out. The taste and scent of sulfur oxide over powered the ability for the lungs to function flawlessly. Here he was stripped of sentient abilities and now a mere man.

What he thought he understood about pain and survival would be given a whole new meaning. Spinning into the cycle a new method of torture; Ventus replicated his conscience doubling the input of what Koji would experience. While during the first fold time seemed to not exist; the second feed to his conscience would experience time. A weathering of his sanity, here he hung upon a cross. In this version he would taste  cinnamon in abundance and like wise the extreme thirst. Against his back was a briar thorn bush which grew a few  centimeters into his skin every few seconds. A growing yet throbbing pain that would never cease. The bush covered from the nape of his neck and down impaling his body from finger tip to finger tip and down to his toes. The thorns avoided vital points as to slowly let him bleed out in the humid heat. The humidity worked wonders when it came to making the body sweat itself into dehydration. When the thorns had accomplished fully impaling him he again would be reborn and the method would continue again.

How? How long? How long did he have to endure this suffrage? How long had he already been enduring it. Perhaps worse than the physical trauma superimposed on his form, was the PTSD that hid in the back of his mind. Triggered by what could only be described as torture, Koji couldn't help but recall his time in the Void. He couldn't help but remember what the Yokai Queen had done to him...What she had done to his Empress. Once freed from his punishment by torture, which lasted for approximately and entire year, he swore. He swore to her that one day he'd come for her, that he would kill her. It only took about another year after he had been freed to follow through on his promise. While she'd been saved and somehow resurrected by her pesky friends, the fact of the matter was that he did as he spoke of doing.

At first, he sympathized for Ventus. However, as her wrath continued to unfold upon him, he grew to have less and less sympathy on her behalf. Was she truly any different than the Yokai Queen, this Goddess? For Akako had done the same to him, tortured him into a stronger version of himself between surgery and abandonment in the limitless void. While he was thankful for the boon he'd received, he still killed her for her transgressions. Though that was hardly for himself, that was for his late Empress. His Kimi. Recalling this fact led to reminiscing of her, which reminded him of Kimiko. In turn, this brought his Empress to his mind, Katiya. This brought to mind his other remaining wives, Noi, and of course the fiery haired Celine. These vivid thoughts a memories brought him to the cusp of the happiest he'd ever been. To ones of his first born, Kaori, and her younger brother Akui; Heir to the Datsuzoku throne. Then of course the two unborn children of his, carried by Noi and Celine respectively; both of which he was almost certain were boys.

Finally his eyes slid shut, and any movements that weren't involuntary ceased to happen all together. There was no more opposing the inevitable, there was no surrender either. Though just as he'd done in the past, he'd do now. His friends, his family, those he loved...He'd survive and live because of them. For them. Acceptance. That was what he came to afford Ventus. Acceptance of the pain and suffering. Acceptance of his own life, of her's even. Between the split yet shared effects of timelessness and time, there was no way to truly tell; Though he accepted his dilemma unabashedly. With each repeat, with each reiteration, he began to feel as if these feelings of intimacy were being extended to Ventus herself.

On the outside Ventus was slowly following him through his memories and emotions. A fierce envy burned within her very being but abundant joy flooded from her as well. Was passing into time so bad; honestly it was not the worst that could happen. Sympathy was the last thing she expected from such a man with a boon as his own; she was compelled to show compassion. A third realm was opened where Koji could consciously go where Ventus delivered to him peace.

The marble floors and halls were clean to the finest of details. Koji himself was clad in white robes; he appeared as himself to the T as well. A single picture of cold water and food nourishment. The soon to be Demi god would need everything he could give. The halls were decorated with statues of beings long before Koji's time in various stances of combat. The sound of harps could be heard down the halls as the smell of fruits and meat beckoned to Koji's senses pulling him forward step by step.  "Come forward.." Her voice sounded through the halls as Ventus herself sat upon a plush kneeling pad at a vast japanese style table. There was but one single extra seat waiting for koji to kneel and food prepped with drink for him to enjoy.

Here was the beginning of the third trial, one of mental intrigue.

bf184e541e0590b66d1042761bb8785c.jpgNothing. That's what he was feeling. This place of purity was neither hot, nor cold. It did not give him a sense of calm nor dread. It was merely a construct of white, a metaphorical heaven within the clouds by his perception. The battle with Ventus was a difficult one, in which even he had perhaps underestimated the might of a Goddess. Falling or otherwise. He'd suffered greatly physically and mentally, only to wind up in a place like this. Had he died? Truly? Had dying in this realm subjected him to it's respective variation of the afterlife? For all intents and purposes, this place was akin to a palace within paradise itself. Though when he'd had his mortal visions of paradise, this was far from what he'd imagined.

For all the elegance and peace this place was teeming with, it struck a chord within him. A vibration that resonated from within, his body nearly rejecting the notion of this becoming his eternity. An eternal life without anything, without anyone that he loved was an empty one. For not even the presence of his Kimi could be sensed, in fact, nothing could be. Aromas of fresh food assaulted his senses, his eyes closing for a moment as he got a good smell as to predict what it was he was smelling. Though his eyes shot open when he heard Her voice.

She beckoned him forth, and while he was mentally taken aback, his body refused to idle. At a leisure pace he traversed the hall, admiring some of the finer arts along the way; Admiring even more the figures that the art represented. Even he came from some semblance of lineage with warriors on each side of his removed families. Some more monster than man, though a warrior all the same. A survivor.

Silently, he entered her company. Briefly he was reminded of his past spent among the Yokai Queen within the Void. Though that wasn't why he entered with such practiced calm and silence. His confusion as to his predicament was enough to warrant nothing from him but compliance as he focused on figuring out exactly where he was; What was going on. As she might have expected, though he meant her no disrespect, he continued all the way to the vacant seat across from the Goddess, and proceeded not by speaking to her, but by beginning to enjoy to the bountiful feast before him. While it wasn't quite the pallet his nature yearned for, it was sustenance all the same. Though even as his maw raked cooked flesh from bone, his amaranthine eyes settled their serpentine gaze upon the Goddess herself.

"You may eat.. I command only that you listen and listen well.." Ventus knew her time was coming to an end, like an era long over due for a reworking. Fate was a cruel leader; letting immortal and mortals alike to believe they had a say in their own existence. Ambient hues gazed over her successor and sole heir to her immense power. The pain of her lost children still weighted heavily upon her shoulders to no end. Yet she would do what must be done to ensure that she would never be a memory. Clenching her hands into fists a flash of anger and sorrow coursed through her veins before swiftly subsiding.

"You are to be... My living legacy.. Even after we are all gone; I refuse to become just a memory of time.. Koji with your heart and soul no matter what befalls you; never forget to pray. To use my power I bestow upon you a boon like no other.. To use my power and its entirety you must pray to me that is my sole condition. Should you accept I have blessings to be bestowed upon you ten fold for the rest of your life and that of your descendants. The gift of a mother is to breathe life into all her vessels and those after that. Should your offspring ever dare to use my power the boon remains the same. They too will pray and know my name.." Reaching down to her left she slowly pulled up a spear which she placed along the table top, allowing her left hand to hover over it she waited for him to finish.

Koji listened, though not because he was directed to do so. He sat more or less still, unchanged as his amaranthine gaze settled upon the Goddess, and inevitably upon her spear. Deep down inside, he pondered with his whole heart how to proceed. His objective was to kill the Goddess, his personal and preferable goal was to devour her. Though in the grand scheme of things it was obvious that she had him more or less in checkmate. His options were simple in the long run, oblige her, at least for now in order to survive. Or, die with her. Though plans were in place for the circumstances of his untimely demise, he was not ready to part with the land of the living just yet. Begrudgingly, he placed his left, humanoid hand over the shaft of the spear. His eyes remaining on Ventus as he placed it there.

"So long as my blood survives, may it serve as your vessel. May you live on through the Datsuzoku for generations to come, Ventus-Sama."

Submission was easy when the situation was so desperate, and when there were none to witness it. A pause settle over them, in which he still looked only to her. His hand hovered still upon the spear, his entire being inhumanly still.

"Are there any particular prayers you are partial too, or have your children left such a bitter taste in your mouth that you require new ones?"

Though his words might have sounded harsh, his tone was careful not to seem as if he were speaking from a place of disrespect, but rather from a place of concern.

As Koji moved to accept her proposal she was mildly surprised at his utter silence. Like a lap dog receiving orders. If Ventus were to give him the reason for her conditions he might chuckle. Perhaps he would not, it had been so long since she had spoken with a mortal in general. Omnipresent as she was, none could really hear her voice; even if they did they had excellent poker faces. Their ignorance of her existence was infuriating, spite was all she began to feel towards the mortal realm. On the flip side of the coin, she intended to bestow upon him this yoke of spite that she felt. With this spite would come the power of a Goddess to elevate the standing of his family to new heights. The world would soon come to pray again even after Koji consumed all that she was, it was not a bad way to go honestly. Within moments of Koji's hand touching the pole arm the fabric of his mental reality changed; the highest height he had experienced as a mere being changed as his very core became that of a Demigod. Not only was Ventus passing on her power, but she intended to impart a few of her own personal touch.

The moment her hand left the spear, Koji almost instantly felt his entire being begin to change on a molecular level. As the hybrid recoiled, Ventus might notice that it wasn't the pain caused by the burning sensation he felt in every ounce of himself. His hair whipped and waved wildly from the pressure racing into, through, and throughout him simultaneously. His body became momentarily encased in brilliant white light, blinding to the naked eye. Protrusions grew out of his head, one larger than the other. His form became a bit more mesomorphic, and perhaps even an inch or two taller. His Draconic, right arm acquired some varient of plates of armor, over a glowing mass of purples and blues, tipped with the same shape of his wretched claws. That same mix of purple and blue overtook the brilliant white light shrouding him, only to silently crack and shatter away from him otherwise in likeliness to glass. That right arm remained glowing, as did his emissive eyes, and the veins of what immediately came to be seen clearly as horns. The spear in his left hand found itself erect, the pointed end opposite the blade audibly tapped the ground as he held it firmly in his grasp. His body coming to stand proudly erect besides the polearm. His now white mane of hair settling to about mid back.

"I bid you pray as you deem it right. So long as it is a prayer unto me. You shall be granted all my power at your disposal. Do you have any other questions?"

"A few...Let's start with your sacred temple. Rumor has it that it is actually a vessel, in which the bridge remains undiscovered after so many years spent seeking it."

He paused for a brief moment as the glowing slowly dimmed. Ultimately it exposed further that his scales were in fact more of a midnight blueish-purple as opposed to their original vantablack hue. The white sclera of his eyes were now a lurid black with even blacker veins, his iris' an unmistakable goldenrod. His serpent like pupils otherwise remained unaffected. With his oddly darkened complexion from his original fair tone, and the darker colors gifted unto him by his mutation, his hair almost seemed to glow, as did the gold of his eyes.

"How do I access the Bridge, and can I operate such megalithic tech?"

Even if it was only by her blessings, he was confident he could find it. Though it would save him much effort to simply ask her before he went looking. Planning ahead, he had in fact already scheduled to have the site shut down for an entire week so that he and his Empress might investigate the temple of their own accord without even the slightest disturbance. Though now it seemed that once they'd experienced their joy, he'd commit the remaining time to accessing said bridge. If it were in fact a ship, wound't it require a key? Perhaps she'd already given him the key without him being capable of realizing it in this moment.

A chuckle rolled across her lips as Koji was reborn in her presence. In a strange sense she was honored to have met a worthy successor to her powers. 'May they never forget where their strength comes from..' Bliss and spite twisted her smirk into something rather malicious. Ventus raised a brow as he inquired about her temple, the hidden bridge which connected more than man kind would ever know. Leaning forward in her seat she tapped the table top two times, light particles gathered together upon the surface. At first the gathering looked like a simple dust pile, but as the pile grew it transformed into a small gem. "Beneath your very feet.. Can't you feel it?" Tilting her head to the side she questioned if he had not noticed himself now attuned to the very location. His senses now felt every corner of this building, because it was now part of his entire being. "My power is yours now, everything that I am resides within your veins.." Ventus chuckled gently, her features reverted back to a more youthful state, standing up slowly she gestured to another room. With every step particles floated away from her form towards himself. "Walk with me..." Ventus gazed back at him before carrying on forward. When Koji did walk beside her the particles would slowly turn into double helix's as his presence absorbed her own. "More questions you have but three left before my time is done.."

This was beginning to sound like more than what he'd bargained for. As opposed to something more akin to being touched by a God thus endowed by them, this sounded more like assimilation to him. All that she was was in his veins...He was the Avatar of Ventus. His pupils dilated, thinning in likeness to single strands of hair as his glare grew pensive at the dawning realization. His devotion and Yoki, ki, and blood alike would fuel the Goddess for presumed generations to come. To tap into her prowess, all they need do is pray. Regardless, there was no turning back now. What had been done, was done. For sparring his life, he felt indebted to her to some degree, though a lifetime of devotion, of prayer, was not something that sat right with him. He was the manipulator of the Red String, the twister of fate. Though mortal, he laid claim to the title of God of his own accord when he established himself, followed by establishing his Dynasty. While Fracture could not fit within his grasp just yet, the seeds had already been sewn in both Nehalen and Genesaris. To fold or yield to anything that disagreed with his self proclaimed fate, was something he wasn't certain he could do. By saving his life however, the Goddess was not doing anything more than clinging to life all her own. Could he accept this divine parasite? Endure it, life cohesively with it? Or was he bound to ignore her presence, to allow her to simply lie dormant within him until the flame of his own soul has been extinguished? As they walked, they talked. His bare feet padded against the marble flooring, only starring at Ventus' backside at this point.

"Three you give me, yet only one remains. In the case of your children, our children, would you have me enact your vengeance upon them?"

Idle conversation filled her final moments in the mortal realm. Deep within her chest she felt fear creeping into her chest, her senses screamed to fight to live on. Yet with the changing of tides it was best if she were a memory, no single being ever wanted to die lest something irreversible happened to change that fact. Gazing straight ahead the walls slowly began to arch out as if they were standing in a cone shaped room. Before them a large hole exposed the nothingness before. There was only darkness as the ship itself was buried so deep and covered in protective spells. If Koji were to look around different sets of abandoned tools and gear lay strewn about. "Those who found it never made it out of the darkness alive.." Unblinking her form had shrunk down to that of a little kid. "Do as you see fit with all who are left.." Even as she spoke she grimaced the spite was still fresh in her mind, but another emotion took over. Reaching out she grabbed his hand and closed her eyes. How long had it been since she had physical contact, and now who would think that this would be her last action. There were no tears to shed for this old bit, only a faint smile as her grip vanished; stepping off the edge the remainder of her form exploded into light particles. The remaining bits flowed straight into Koji's chest, a faint but final; 'Farewell..' Was all that he heard before he stood alone. Somewhere upon his body a new tattoo had now taken place.

An thus Ventues, Mother of the Gods was no more. [Title Obtained: Avatar of Ventues. Trial Complete: Welcome to Godhood.] @Twitterpated
