THE BLACKSPEAR CARTEL


Name: The Blackspear Cartel (Black Spear)

Symbol: A woman pierced from behind by a spear

Colors: Black, black and black. Sometimes grey but mostly black.

Description: A mercenary group whose true purpose is the collection, compilation, segregation, and transcription of knowledge, history and experiences.

Members:

Brief History: An idea created by the Black Maker, Lord Suzy. The concept was to create an information gathering collective as a container for all the knowledge stored within the Lord Suzy's mind. Being someone who has lived for an unrealistic amount of time, the old man has an intense need for a storage device so he can share the burden of his memories. Thus the cartel is born.

  • It was later revealed that while the Blackspear cartel has long been created, it was just recently that it has spreas its name. Prior to going public, the organization has mostly kept to its own thus leaving very little trace in the annals of history. 
  • There were no accounts on how old this organization is but the Blackmaker allegedly claims that he has been in val since the dawn of time. Other members too, like the Lady has claimed to have lived for a few centuries in Valucre. She also alleges that she have lived longer in and has been jumping realms. Khakina and Sera were her first members and claimed to have lived a few millenia before entering Valucre. One may or may not believe such claims but one cannot deny that they all possess knowledge beyond their years.

The Blackspear cartel's mechanics:

  • The Blackspear contract - a contract between the Blackhead and its members. It states that any one ordained into the  Blackspear collective must give up their privacy, individuality, free will and even their very lives. This also stops the time of most members at a state where they are at their peak rendering them ageless. This even breaks the cycle of life and death as the contract turns the bodies of all members into organic vessels. This leaves all members merely shadows of their former selves, just puppets of the collective consciousness that is the Blackspear.
  • The Blackspear Archive - the true purpose of the cartel.  The collection, compilation, segregation, and transcription of knowledge, history and experiences which are all done within the massive collective consciousness which spans from the Blackhead to all members. Members send information in real time through multiple channels like radio waves, spiritual waves, psychic waves, etc. The Archive also holds the information of each upper echelon and the Blackhead which stores data in real time. This allows members to preserve their identity and even consciousnes even if their mortal vessels are indisposed.
  • The Blackspear Communion - all members are capable of accessing the Archive and all the knowledge which reside in it. This allows them the knowledge to use a wide variety skill, abilities and spells. Of course, knowing is different from mastery so any member would still need practice to make full use of the borrowed knowledge.
  • The Blackspear Armory - a pocket dimension where the organization stores all the artifact, relics and other powerful items that the members have gathered throughout the years. Can be accessed by the upper echelon and the Blackhead.
  • The Blackspear Constitution - all upper echelon and the Blackhead have bodies beyond the limits of any human even if they look mundane. Since they are one collective consciousness but with each member appearing as nodes or access points, their bodies are mere vessels which can be discarded and later replaced.

The Blackspear skillset:

  • Domination(Active/Sustained): 
    Spoiler

    A general term for any type of supernatural manipulation of an already existing object. Examples are telekinesis, psychokinesis, etc. Every member is capable of physical change manipulation but needs to specialization for more complex actions. They can move objects as well in space. The weight of an object lifted should be the equal to the member's physical lifting capacity.

    It has been observed that most magical abilities are just that, basic manipulation on a limited basis. Domination, then, should be easily accessible to all members but will need time to train and master such a skill-intesive ability. As such, each personally practices on Dominating their own 'presence traits' by directly inhibiting them consciously until they can do the same task subconsciously.

     

  • Emulation(Active/Sutained):

    Another skill open to all cartel members. This allows the user to replicate any natural or supernatural phenomena in exchange for expending energy. Good examples of this are elemental and non-elemental casting. The scale and intensity of the emulation are proportional to the energy consumed. Each member also have their own attribute attunement which lets them emulate some stuff easier while others are harder. 

     

  • Communion (Passive/Active/Sustained):

    all members are capable of accessing the Archive and all the knowledge which reside in it. This allows them to use a wide variety skill, abilities and spells and even share/borrow another person's ability through their communal bond. 

     

  • Amplification/Reduction(Active/Sustained):

    Another cartel skill. A two-part ability that allows any cartel member to amplify/reduce a certain trait, quality, skill, ability, feature, or technique they own, of any other non-PC object. The target must be within five meters or so 

     

  • Absorption/Conversion (active/sustained):

    any cartel member can convert one source of energy into another source. Best example would be converting one's personal mana or the mana around them into a spell like fireball or waterball.
    They are also capable of absorbing energy as long as they can identify it. However, the ease of absorption is limited to a member's personal attribute attunement or affinity. 

     

  • Blackspear's taint(Passive):

    Purely cosmetic effect. Cartel members' projectile attacks are primarily in the form of a spear unless they specify the exact shape.

     

  • Blackspear Constitution (passive/active) -

    all upper echelon and the Blackhead have bodies beyond the limits of any human even if they look mundane. Ehanced physical prowess, regeneration, durability and stamina. With their contract that denies them normal death, the upper echelon can keep on living even after suffering mortal wounds but are still subject to human limitations like inability to move dislocated/broken limbs, etc. 

     

  • Blackspear's Senses (passive/sustained) -
    Spoiler

    the upper echelon can expend energy to enhance their five senses beyond normal limitations. They are also able to perceive and understand matter, energy,  waves and vibrations within five meters of them as long as they have previously experienced the same.

     

  • Blackspear's sight/sense (active/(sustained) -

    the upper echelon can expend energy to see beyond human capabilities,  allowing them to see or perceive the electromagnetic spectrum, energy(natural types and supernatural) waves, vibrations, lines of force, and supernatural phenomena. However, seeing new things does not mean they are capable of immediately understanding. As usual they must first experience seeing something before making any inference

  • Blackspear Environmental Adaptation:

    The bodies of all members have been adjuested accordingly so that they can adapt to most climate or environmental factor that they could recognize. The body acclimates or adapts takes time and energy where most require at least a day for full adaptation.

     

  • Blackspear Analysis:

    All members can quickly analyse objects they have come into physical contact with by running supernatural energy through it. The larger the object the more time and energy is needed for a thorough analysis. However, destroying, harming or killings objects and beings quickens the process.

Blackspear's Guide to Supernatural Abilities:

As an organization that compiles knowledge and information, they have thoroughly studied the functions and purposes of the supernatural. In their study and research they have realized that there are a lot of similarities between these things they call 'powers,' 'magic,' 'psions,' and other supernatural abilities. 

  • Ability casting sequence - the basics of all their abilities. All skills require a sequence: Ability concept --> Conversion --> Emulation --> Manipulation --> Ability Cast.

The Blackspear Armory - a pocket space where the members store all their weapons and equipment. Cannot store objects larger than two meters. Full-access to the storage can be achieved after 5 combat posts. Once fully opened, the upper echelon member can summon up to five items at the same time and the summoned item can be used the same post it is summoned.

  •  The Black Spear - a conceptual weapon whose strength is equal to that of its wielder. It can easily meld with other forms of supernatural abilities.
  • The Blackspear Coat - 
    Spoiler
    • A simple black leather ankle-length coat. V
    • ery resistant to physical and supernatural cuts, wears and tears.
    • Highly durable but poorly absorbs shock.
    • Also repairs itself overnight.
    • Also bears the Blackspear symbol on its back which may or may not be visible.
    • Also acts as an environment suit by deploying an invisible skin-type barrier on the wielder. The barrier runs on the energy provided by an upper echelon member. One can only deploy the barrier if the environment has been recognized or has been properly analyzed.

     

  • Exalta Weapon - weapons formed from the shards of Exalta prisms. The weapon takes the form of the wielder's choice when summoned but must be summoned again to change shape. Once summoned, the blades are used as a power source and enhancer for the wielder's abilities. So far there are twenty of these stored within the armory
  • Black Exalta Prism necklace - a necklace crafted to store the trio of black exalta prisms together with the other ten exalta prisms the cartel has gathered. The necklace is a power converter which converts the prisms dangerous energy into safe usable power source for any upper echelon member.
  • Valinde Stopwatch:  A stopwatch that grants supernatural speed.
  • Black Heart Mirror Item Set: A trio of powerful armaments from the land of Athentha. Click the spoiler below for more details.
  • Talix blade - weapons acquired from the fallen vampire lords of Talix-Engine. Capable of deflecting supernatural abilities upon contact. Can nullify supernatural abilities within five meters of the user but requires three posts of casting time.
  • The Black Heart Mirror Set:

    -Passive: Swordshift (can shift into other sword shapes/takes time)

    -Active: Amplification (can boost one of the user's traits, skills, spells, or ability for a limited amount of time)

    -Sustained: Spell Repulsion(repels supernatural phenomenon/ability the sword comes in contact wth.)]

     

    Black Heart Mirror Spear (relic):

    -Passive: Drain (Drains the energy of anything it comes into direct contact and gives it to the user)

    -Active: Amplification (can boost one of the user's traits, skills, spells, or ability for a limited amount of time)

    -Sustained: Equal Ground (negates supernatural phenomenon/ability around the user. Also affects the user.)]

     

    Black Heart Mirror Robe(relic):

    -Passive: Styleshift (can shift into other styles of coats) / Can weakly resist magical/supernatural/physical damage.

    -Active: Amplification (can boost one of the user's traits, skills, spells, or ability for a limited amount of time)

    -Sustained: All purpose Barrier(blocks magical/phyisical/supernatural phenomena from harming the user]

     

    *All Black Heart Mirror relics corrupt the users and their surrounding with the Black Heart Mirror ore plague every time the active ability is used*

    *These relics are bonded with their owners and will materialize from thin-air when summoned. If it loses physical contact with the user, it dematerializes and can be summoned again after a while)}

  • Core of the Nameless Goddes: the essence of Shishi's nameless goddess. A relic that can be shared among all members but can only be fully used by the Mistress Blackhead/Middy/Linda or Shishi:

    • First discovered during the Ceyena disaster by Middy. After a series of threads, the core was fully realized after the cartel's clash with the Renovatian titan god Cialo.
    • When summoned, it acts a power source and amplifier for the member's abilities.
    • It grants the wielder knowledge and mastery over light-based and 'holy' abilities.
    • It can fuse with the wielder to grant the following: Grants 'Angelic trait.'
      • Allows the user to summon angelic weapons or the angels themselves.
      • Grants the 'Angelic' guardian. A guardian spirit angel that takes a different form depending on the user but can only use one form per thread. Can be summoned within five-meters of the wielder and the guardian cannot move away past that five meters. It is an extension of the user's self so it does what the user is capable of. It's true purpose is to be a proxy fighter while the user does something else.

     
  • Divine Core of the Titan God Cialo - essence of the Renovatian titan god Cialo which the cartel acquired during the god-slayer arc.

    • It grants the user knowledge and mastery over earth abilities or geomancy.
    • It can act as a power source and amplifier for the wielder's abilities.
    • It can fuse with the wielder which grants "Titan Cialo" trait. This fusion allows the access of the following abilities:
      • It grant's titan body which lets the wielder emulate Cialo's qualities like immense strength, speed, endurance, divine/primordial earth manipulation and allows one to draw power/energy/healing from the earth.
      • Grants the 'Titan Cialo' guardian:
        • A divine guardian spirit that takes the shape of the deceased god Cialo. Can be summoned within five-meters of the wielder and the guardian cannot move past five meters away from the wielder unless . It gains all the abilities that the essence core grants. It takes the qualities of its namesake like immense brute strength, immense speed and endurance. It can also grow in size like the original Cialo(using this allows the god to move past the five-meter limitation).

     

  • Divine Core of the God Sagittarius
  •  - essence of the Renovatian god Sagittarius which the cartel acquired during the god-slayer arc.

    • It grants the user knowledge and mastery over lightning/electricity, sound/vibration/wave, and healing skills and abilities:
    • It can act as a power source and amplifier for the wielder's abilities.
    • It can fuse with the wielder which grants the "Sagittarius" trait. This fusion allows the access of the following abilities: It grants the 'fly' skill.
      •  Also grants the user's body to adapt to this form without repercussions. It grants 'lightning speed.' Massively increases the wielder's overall speed, agility and aerial maneuverability. Also grants the user's body to adapt to this form without repercussions.
      • Grants and greatly enhances the wielder's healing abilities and natural regeneration. Grants the user the divine lightning abilities/skills.
      • Grants the 'Sagittarius' guardian. A divine guardian spirit that takes the shape of the deceased god Saggitarius. Can be summoned within five-meters of the wielder and the guardian cannot move past that five meters. It gains all the abilities that of the deceased god Sagittarius. It has boosted physical and magical traits, qualities and abilities. It can also grow in size like the original Sagittarius (using this allows the god to move past the five-meter limitation). 

     

  • Divine Core of the Titan God Montis Maximus - essence of the Renovatian god Montis Maximus which the cartel acquired during the god-slayer arc.
    Spoiler
    • As a weakened core, it grants the wielder mastery over fire and earth skills and abilities. Also lava abilities.
    • It can fuse with the wielder to grant the "Montis Maximus" trait. This fusion allows the access of the following abilities:
      • Allows one to draw energy from fire/earth/lava.
      • Allows one to use divine/primordial fire/lava abilities.
      • Grants the 'Titan Montis Maximus' guardian:
        •  A guardian spirit that takes the shape of the deceased god Montis Maximus.
        • Can be summoned within five-meters of the wielder and the guardian cannot move away past five meters from the wielder.
        • It gains all the abilities that the essence core grants. It has all the abilities, skills and qualities the deceased god has.
        • It has boosted physical and magical traits, qualities and abilities.
        • It can also grow in size like the original Montis Maximus (using this allows the god to move past the five-meter limitation).
        • Mostly used as a special mount.

     

  • Specky Series - a creature created by the Black Maker.

    It's original form is that of a black blob but has sentience. Each member have their personal version of Specky. These creatueres are capable of changing their shape and size into mundane non-living objects with a maximum size equal to their owners. They can also shapeshift into any living thing that they have either devoured, ingested a portion of their dna or have once been slain/studied/observed by their owner. However, the size is limited to that of its owner. They are also conduits for magic and are useful as energy batteries/banks for their owners.

 

  • Heaven's Armor - (previously an artifact) an armor made from an alien metal that was recovered from the mountains of Taen. It was later reforged, bathed, and blessed within the divine essences of seven Renovatian gods then dipped in godsblood. The following are its abilities:
    • Resistances: Physical/Kinetic, Elemental/Non-elemental both natural and supernatural.
    • Shapeshifting: It can change shape depending on the owner's will.
    • Sizeshifting: It grants the wielder the ability to enlarge or shrink. Takes time for size changes.
    • Regeneration: The armor's metal can repair itself by regrowing.
    • Heaven's Armor (Spawns) - pieces of the metal were split off and cultivated to create pseudo-replicas with the same traits and properties but deemed inferior compared to the original.

Serphus Aluminum - Black Heart Mirror - Brother against Sister - The cartel sends Middy, Sera and Khaki is requested to corrupt Esben's sister. They achieve three Athentha Relics - Black Heart Mirror Great Sword, Black Heart Spear, and Black Hear Mirror Robes.
Land of the Free: The cartel sends Middy Ochre who later becomes an honorary member of Justice for assisting Jericho in freeing slaves in izral.
Fright Night Town Raid: Vigilante Middy travels to Tormo to protect the citizens. He manages to save a few. At the end, he finds out that his boss, Lady Blackhead, was part of the villains who plundered Tormo.
MOBS Tournament 2(Champion Sera): The cartel sends Sera to fight in the tournament. Later on, Middy bets against her fellow agent Sera. Sera becomes champion making Middy lose the bet and his left eye in the process. (PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE)
Graduation: Dredge amasses his troops for the invasion. The current Lady Blackhead joins Dredge and forces the whole cartel to bow to her insane decision.
Battle of Last Chance: The Lady Blackhead forces the brainwashed cartel members to fight with the Legion at the Battle of Last Chance. After their departure, the Lady retires and is soon replaced by the new Blackhead, a woman known as the Mistress.  
Rock and a Hard Place: The Mistress reaches out to Ms Blonde. 
To Command Despair: The new Mistress Blackhead encounters Lilith. Her subordinates receive the mark of Lilith.
We can do Both: Ms Blonde employs the Mistress Blackhead to attack Club Euphoria
Wild Hunt: The Mistress Blackhead joins Ms Blonde to hunt some dragons
Silence - The Mistress assists in monopolizing the mining in Ponkapaoag lake.
Steeped in Moonlight: The Mistress meets Lilith again to help get an artifact for Ankou.

Darkness and Havoc - Apocalyptic Event in Ceyana - The Mistress leads the Black Spear Cartel to stop the god Havoc.

Revival Legion of Doom - The Mistress dies at Shawnee. This marks the end of the Mistress and the Black Spear Cartel.
