Clandestine Industrial: UV Mutant Ordering Guide! (Ultraviolence Supplementary)

Recommended Posts

INCOMING MESSAGE FROM ://ENCRYPTEDIP:RE:UVMUTANT//CLANDESTINE

Thank you for choosing Clandestine Industrial for your biotechnological security needs! As you've doubtlessly heard by now, our state-of-the-art laboratories are constantly evolving; developing new and fantastic security measures to fit any combat scenario, without the hassle of interference from foreign technologies, remote-transmitted viruses, and other tragic machine downfalls. This quarter, we are proud to unveil our latest efforts in the ongoing fight for bioweapons on the front line; the UV Mutant!

The UV Mutant, at a first glance, might seem like something we're already familiar with. After all, who hasn't used lab-grown super-soldiers before? Don't let early concept art fool you, however! Each mutant may start in a humanoid form, but that's only the steroid and adrenaline appetizer to this front line fiend! Using breakthrough technology in cellular coding, Clandestine Scientists working hard in one of our remote facilities have found a way to selectively program cell growth and death in particular, and fantastical patterns! Coupling this with regular, repeated doses of ultraviolet light from microLEDs implanted into living tissue, causes the sudden formation of cancers in specific parts of the bodies on command. From there, we inject a powerful miracle drug into the body, which rapidly and violently accelerates the programmed cell growth and death of the cancer cells we developed prior. In a matter of minutes, your new subject starts looking more and more physically impressive!

But we don't stop there! Our UV Mutants are selectively chosen based on the genetic mapping of their body. In particular, we are looking for a specific weakness in a particular karyotype, which allows us to insert special cells into the bloodstream that automate this process, allowing forcible cell growth and manipulation to occur almost indefinitely. We're getting close to the end, so try to keep up! After the first few months of mutation, our mutants reach what we consider 'critical mass', where they rarely develop larger skeletons after a certain point, at which point we're able to surgically enter the mutant's brain and perform a series of mini procedures to implement tradition cyborg combat routines into the cerebral cortex. The end result: Constantly growing, self-repairing combat drones that can be programmed remotely to attack specific targets at will. Or, UV Mutants!

You might think that the UV in 'UV Mutants' might stand for 'Ultraviolet,' based on the programmed cancer cells in the body. In fact, UV stands for Ultraviolence, based on the primary coding behind our new frightening friends! Your UV Mutant, when you collect it, produces a number of specific chemicals in its brain whenever active in order to propel it into the fight. We like to keep things simple, and forcefully starve the weapon of nearly all chemicals when it isn't fighting: this includes dopamine, adrenaline, testosterone and more! Using traditional conditioning strategies, we can force the mutant to blindly throw itself into combat scenarios as often as it can in order to maintain the near-ecstastic sensation of bloodlust, for an indefinite period of time. Once your weapon is deployed, sit back, and watch as it ruthlessly throws itself nonstop at everything it can find to kill as quickly as possible! Furthermore, your mutant comes equipped with a powerful 'Kronenburg 12-Gauge Collar', designed to cleanly and abruptly eliminate your Mutant once it remains idle in the field for more than 2 hours without killing something. Talk about an easy clean up!

It bears repeating that your weapon will faithfully live up to its name, but can it spot the difference between unarmed civilians and armed opposition? No! In fact, in order to guarantee that your UV Mutant maintains our tried and true scorched earth policy, we've taken the liberty of installing a very straightforward, but very effective targeting system in the brain. It will kill things, destroy obstacles and avoid walls, and that's it. Your mutant has no other function but to slaughter! We're particularly proud of the potential Ultraviolence our mutants can commit, and we certain hope you will be, too! However, if you ever need to instruct your mutant to perform targeted demolition, or perhaps you want to guide it towards an intended target, all UV Mutants respond to a low frequency laser targeting system, included with your purchase. By using the targeting system, you can redirect the UV Mutant wherever you like!

By now, you're probably wondering how you can get your hands on your own UV Mutant! You're probably wondering 'Can my mutant feel pain?' or 'What animal do we use to produce the results needed for UV Mutant development?' However, at Clandestine Industrial, we think the more important question is: How do you want your mutant to get the job done?

We said already that our mutants are genetically coded to build new organs, muscle and bone based on a specific code--we call this a 'mutation'--and when you purchase your own UV Mutant, you get to selectively chose your own mutations in order to build your own mutant as best as possible! Take a look at the form below, and get started building your own personal weapon, by sampling our various mutations in the Mutations Catalog!

Frontloading String//UVMutant.bash

//Basic UV Mutant Coding Instructions. Don't fuck with this too much; it's the latest stable string we're able to print and corporate wants stable products to ship early. We mess with this too much, and we're scraping liquid meat off the ground again. - V

Cellular String Name: Ultraviolent Mutant

Base Height: 8 Feet Min - 10 Feet Max

BMI: 25 or Higher. //I KNOW you idiots keep making them smaller on purpose! I don't give a fuck how grotesque they look when they put on muscle and fat, but they need that extra cell space. Take your weird mutie fetish and shove it. - V

Viable DNA Strands: <<Click Here to Launch DNA Database>>

Mutations List:

//Currently, we need to keep working with that weird workaround R&D found back in early development, the equivalent exchange. To make things simple, I've written in a counter here. Adding shit from either table will either increase or decrease the counter. Balance it at 0, or the code won't compile when you go to export. Remember that we can only fit in 6 Mutations at a maximum in the compiler, any more than that won't appear in the Mutant, and might screw with the cellular growth. We can't afford any screwups right now, so try to keep it simple, eggheads. - V

Positive Mutations (Cost Points)

Gastrointestinal Propulsion System (+1): Development of a third and fourth stomach allows gaseous bodies to gestate within the body separate from decomposing matter. Pressurized glans allow high-speed propulsion of gas from the mouth and pores. Allows the mutant to expel flammable gas from its body, and propel biological-based projectiles a greater distance, at greater speeds.

Epidermal Callousing and Regenerative Cell Growth (+1): Rapid stiffening of Epidermal cells causes repeated toughening of the hide. At first glance appeared to be sudden development of kevlar across subject's body, but is in fact closer to tightly-knitted carbon fiber. Protects the subject from severe physical trauma, and slows the rate of bleeding.

Enhanced Keratin Devlopment (+1): Unexpected diversion of cell growth to keratin development results in constantly growing teeth, nails and hair. As per prior coding, nails grows significantly thicker, and modular differences to biological synthesis results in sharper, thicker claws. To compensate, bone growth in hands and feet are limited, and opposable digits are removed entirely.

Crystalline Supermatter Growth (+1) Sudden calcifying of cells results in carbon-based crystalline structures of various colors and size along the body. Currently not useful, but notable for unstable structure and apparent absorption of excess heat and energy. Allows the mutant to grow large, colored crystal structures anywhere on the body.

Vestigial Limb integration (+1) Originally vestigial limbs given proper, and unexpected redevelopment, resulting in massive recombinations of existing muscle structure. Gives the mutant extra, but slightly weaker limbs.

Rapid Onset Metabolism (+1) At-will activation of rapid metabolic action in the digestive tract, burning unnecessary calories, lipids and carbohydrates. Raises the surrounding area's ambient temperature to an excess of 120 degrees Celsius, which also rapidly boosting the body's normal repair rate. Causes vapid and uncontrollable cell growth, allowing the mutant to grow unexpectedly and quickly.

Gigantism Signaller (+1): Signalling of a hidden DNA lipid causes the mutant to grow an additional 2-4 feet larger than normal. Does not negatively impact speed, but does make blood flow a concern.

Compound Eyes (+1): Insectoid eyes allow greater field of vision and accessible multitasking.

Limb extension (+1): Forcible reconstruction of bone structure allows limbs to grow longer, and multi-jointed, allowing for greater reach and more complex limb motions.

Bone Density Acceleration (+2) Forcible calcifying of bone structure causes heavier, and therefore stronger skeletal structure. Harder to break, and hits harder.

Biochemical Glans (+1) Invasive Bacterial gestating in an isolated organ rapidly lowers pH level of incoming matter, which is then ejected as a long range, corrosive oil. Allows the mutant to expel slippery, corrozive and poisonous fluid, capable of chewing through powerful metals and alloys.

Oxydizing Chemical Dispersal Glands (+2) Extrarespiratory chamber located just above the stomach fills slowly with naturally occuring oxydizing gas-state. Specialized valves keep oxygen out of the chamber, and allows gas to escape the chamber upon exhalation. Gas ignites upon contact with the air, allowing the mutant to breathe fire.

Pyrokinetic Psynapse: Psychic interconnectivity within the mutant's prefrontal lobe and specialized organs allow at-will combustion of targeted objects, in the form of bolts of fire or lightning. Allows the mutant to perform long-range attacks within view of the target.

Vestigial Wings (+3): Thorough and pain-staking limb-manipulation over months of development results in wiry, thin-boned limbs designed to be the beginning of wings. Currently useless, but equipped with claws for additional close combat.

Negative Mutations (Refund Points)

Unfocused/Irregular Eye Growth (-1): Failure to distribute conical shapes behind eyes causes various problems with focusing, resulting in nearsightedness, farsightedness, colorblindness or astigmatism. Does not impact innate targeting abilities.

Epidermal Atrophy (-2😞 Rapid decomposition of epidermal layer, and subsequent rotting of musculatory system reduces mutant to the skeletal system, where the musculatory and epidermal systems attempt to function in and around. Causes the mutant to look like a skeleton.

Irregular/Anomolous Muscle Growth (-1) Unexpected mutations during muscle growth permanently impacts the movement and action of certain limbs and extremities. Can result in spastic motions, useless limbs, as well as sagging or bulging of body parts.

Dampened Receptor Nodes (-1): Targetted dampening of the senses reduces subject's ability to see, smell, taste, hear, feel or predict target placement in real time. Causes the mutant to overestimate or underestimate the distance between the target and the mutant, or an inability to identify some targets.

Chronic Anemia (-2) offset by forcible constriction of veins and arteries): Failure to transport healthy blood cells throughout mutant's body in order to ensure positive body performance, resulting in early fatigue and difficulty transporting blood to vital organs. Offset via in vitro surgery to tighten and loosen various veins and arteries, but can occasionally fail.

Dwarfism Signaller (-1): Signalling of hidden DNA lipid causes the mutant to grow at a reduced 4 meters on average, causing mutant to be roughly the size of an adult man. Does not negatively impact blood flow and organ function, but somewhat diminishes speed and strength.

Irregular Spine Formation (-2) Spinal torsion caused by unfavorable coding makes standing upright impossible, forcing subject to crawl. Occasional paralysis of limbs possible.

Unexpected Bone Growth (-2) Unanticipated cancerous growth results in additional abscesses, tumors and growths. While not necessarily harmful, unexpected divergence of cells limits ability to continue to grow and develop.

Regenerative limb tissue (-2): Recessive instructions in genetic sequencing result in limbs shrinking before disappearing altogether. Results in a 'trunk-like' body formation, in which the mutant must propel itself across the ground through calloused muscles along its underbelly.

Neutral Mutations (Cost Nothing. Mostly Cosmetic)

Tentacular Limb Replacement: Forcible Redesignation of a limb into a pelagic pseudopod. Said tentacle may be spiked, have suction cups or be any thickness upon request, and replaces a singular limb.

Forced Keratin Refeathering: Recoding of keratin development causes the development and growth of large, different-colored feathers that cover the flesh. Feather color, size and quantity can be modified upon request.

Keratin acceleration: Malformed organs mass-produce radon, causing nonstop production of keratin-based hair and fur, growing across the body. Hair is thick and course, on par with animal fur, and can be recolored upon request.

Bone development and perforation: Specific coding allows for bone structure to be implemented in the form of crests, armor plates and additional body shapes aimed at altering the performance or size of the mutant.

Vocalization Inhibitor/Exhibitor: Specific redistribution of muscles in the throat and jaw prevent or permit sounds of certain decibles, pitches or ranges. Alteration of this adjusts the noise of the mutant's cry in whatever way is preferred.

For those reading this.

Hello, and thank you for your interest in committing Ultraviolence! I'm sorry this took me as long as it did to get set up (I had a lot of ideas for the mutations list, but forgot how long writing takes), but it is up now.

I'd like to specify a few things here, before you get started making your mutant. If the mutation lists are in a confusing format, or you have some questions, take a look down here first before you go and ask.

What exactly is a UV Mutant?

A UV Mutant is a mutant caused by rapid exploitation of human genes in order to pump out massive amounts of body mass, in order to shape it into muscle, bone, armor, teeth, claws and whatever else you decide you want to do. As a designer bioweapon, UV Mutants are designed primarily to be self-reliant killing machines. Dropping even one into a populated area should, in theory, kill everything nearby over the span of a few hours. Speaking of which, a UV Mutant lives only for murder. If it isn't killing something, and remains idle for too long, the mutant is killed, with a collar around its neck that fires 18 12-gauge shotgun shells into its face at point blank range when it stays out of a fight for too long. In other words, you, as a mutant, are expected to keep killing. So keep killing, alright?

How do I play as a UV Mutant?

I'm going to offer you a brief mantra for you to consider for all your posting needs for this thread. When in doubt, just repeat it to yourself, and apply the logic as necessary.

UV Mutants feature an ingrained targeting system that 'paints' things red, obstacles yellow and walls blue. As a rule, I will highlight any pertinent text in my posts with these three colors, to tell you what your Mutant sees them as.

The mantra is as follows:

Kill Things, Destroy Obstacles, Avoid Walls

UV Mutants are, despite any claims to the contrary, no longer people. You lost that a long time ago, and you will write at your best if you keep that in mind. Repeated trauma, selective brain surgery and the various drugs involved in the mutation have stolen your identity. You do not exist as a person anymore, and you don't care. You are a mutant, and your primary goal is to kill things.

Throughout the thread, as your party smashes its way through whatever they can find, you will face opposition, and you will be expected to surpass it as brutally and effectively as possible. As said before, the violence is reacted. If you become more violent, the resistance will grow more violent in response.

How do you perform violence?

There are always threads that try to present a fight as a fair playing field, or as a series of numbers and stats. I'm particularly guilty of this, in fact. However, Ultraviolence is a pure power fantasy for the unhinged. Instead of asking you to repeatedly roll dice, read numbers or anything like that, you will be taken at your word. You are a mountain of muscle and flesh, trying to commit omnicide on a legion of biologically engineered soldiers, unarmed scientists, weapons and vehicles. Use your writing skills to explain how everything is killed, and we're all happy.

Similarly, my role aCommit Vios GM, or Thread Leader if you prefer, is to describe opposition. I'll describe the weapons and units involved, and who is attacking who, and how people are responding to your slaughter. Your role is to take that information I supply, and use it in your own responses. As a close-to-unstoppable killing machine, you are not at fault if you ignore all weapon damage for the most part. If that's how you play, nobody will stop you. However, keep in mind that an injury to your mutant is just another reason to commit ultraviolence, another reason to feel pain. Your writing will improve if you incorporate the opposition force into your posts.

Maybe I'm being too abstract. Just remember.

Kill Things, Destroy Obstacles, Avoid Walls

Things will try to kill you, and therefore you must kill them. Obstacles are walls, barricades, doors, and walkways that are between you and the things you want to kill, so destroy them. Walls are thick walls, the floor, heavy doors or other objects that aren't things or obstacles, and must be avoided.

What is this mutant table, and how does it work?

The mutant table follows the idea of equivalent exchange, in which you must give up something in exchange for gaining something. Each mutation on the list has a number after it, and either a subtraction or addition sign in front of it. If you choose to use that mutation, add that number to the 0 up top. If that 0 is any number other than a 0 when you have selected your mutations, then you need to balance out your mutations. Furthermore, you can only have a maximum of six mutations right now, and you'll get more after each act, so keep that in mind.

A mutation or feature I thought about isn't on the list!

Thankfully, that's what this thread is for! I expect each of you to provide a small summary of your mutant on this page in a post once you have your affairs sorted, including information like your mutant's height, BMI, and whatever useful features you think need to be included, including a physical descriptions, or a codename if you like.. If you'd like to add functions and mutations that aren't on the list to your monster, speak up here, and we'll get it written up as a mutation. As a general rule, a UV Mutant with no mutations basically looks like an 8 foot tall reptile man, so do what you can to make sure they look the way you want them to. I'd be happier with you having a monster you are happy with, over one that follows the arbitrary rules I laid out before slipping into a ham and potato dinner-induced coma.

Are there any rules for the thread?

Just three.

First: No edge. I get it, the temptation to be dark and brooding, to have a shred of humanity left in you, or a dark persona is strong. We don't do that here. Keep it simple, and keep it violent. Please.

Second: No Team Killing. Other Mutants are painted blue. Avoid them with your fists.

Third: Make your own fun. It's one thing to just soak all the damage and kill all the guys in one hit, but there are other, arguably more interesting ways to write. Consider implementing your own personal rules for how you participate in this thread. For example, you might want to tell yourself to write 'one sentence for each person I kill in a post' or perhaps 'I move slower if I try to move past guys without killing them, so I'm forced to kill what's closest to me first and ignore far away targets for now.' Make your own fun. Easy, right?

And that's all I've got for you right now. Take a good look at everything I've laid out for you, and get your mutant registered right away! The sooner we get to work, the sooner the violence begins.

Unfocused/Irregular Eye Growth can cause color blindess. Does this affect how the UV Mutants see the Red, Yellow and Blue?

It does not. Targeting is mere coding in the brsin, assigned a color value for ease of identity in text.

If I may ask, where do I come in all of this?

Supposedly this thread was stated to be non-canon, but I'm interested in forces such as my VCF being cannon fodder or legitimate threat towards these mutants.

If not then you said last time you were going to talk about a position I could fill?

I would definitely love to write the horror-esque theme of trying to escape a mutant rage-filled and with a primary purpose to kill, like escaping the nemesis in Resident Evil.

Payment received. All pertinent data and information in regards to subject: RIPLEY is enclosed below.

We hope the ensuing carnage is to your satisfaction!

----

Subject Classification: Meso Proteus

Designation: "Ripley" - derived from the scientist that discovered the extraterrestrial samples used in the coding of the subject.

Height: 10'

BMI: 33

Engineer Notes: Subject: Ripley is a successful venture, and demonstrates incredible versatility in combat scenarios. However, it should be noted the subject demonstrates slightly aberrant , though no less effective, behavior in regards to target elimination. While most previous ventures have demonstrated insatiable bloodlust and one minded pursuit of targets, Ripley seems to have adopted more predatory practices. It certainly kills, and relishes in the act just as every other subject does, but it also seems to be scratching some primal desire to hunt now baked into its genetic code. This is likely a result of the extraterrestrial genome, the full effects of which I'm afraid will only be discovered in time. Regardless, Ripley is ready to ship, and better anywhere else but here. Whoever dreamed this thing up has a twisted imagination.

Negative Mutations

Unexpected Bone Growth: As a result of an extraterrestrial genome being introduced into the coding of this particular mutant, the subject experienced unexpected divergences and reconstruction of the skeletal structure. While the torso maintains the same general structure, the subject's legs have fused and elongated, resulting a largely serpentine physiological structure. However, while the subject no longer maintains the use of its original legs, the arms have changed for the deadlier. The skeletal structure of the hand has fused into thin protrusions extending from the condyloid joint. These protrusions taper towards an inward facing edge that allow Ripley to either stab and rend potential targets or simply slash to cut down swaths of enemies. Additionally, if cutting proves ineffective, Ripley may rely upon the large "knuckle" located at the base of the blades to bludgeon or crush targets, each as large as a man's skull and solid throughout.

Perhaps the most striking alteration to its skeletal structure is its slightly elongated and cylindrical skull in which its sensory organs are located. Outside of these alterations, the only other alterations are the pointed protrusions extending along the back from the subject's vertebrae.

While many of these mutations have been weaponized, the physiological changes they present make the subject incompatible with a number of other potential alterations other subjects could potentially receive. What's more, the subject will attempt to protect its head and the vital sensory organs therein if it believes the force of its opposition to be significant enough.

Irregular Eye Growth: In the early stages of development the subjects eyes began to atrophy and regress, quickly leading to blindness before the eyes receded beneath the dermis of the skin. While blind, the photo-receptors are still sensitive to light, and as a a result Ripley will destroy sources of illumination if able or otherwise avoid them. To compensate for its complete lack of eyesight, Ripley has developed an vomeronasal organ to compliment its olfactory system, as well as complex mechano- and electro-receptive organs housed within its cylindrical skull.

Positive Mutations

Bone Density Acceleration: It was thought that, given Ripley's reliance upon its own skeletal structure to assault targets and destroy obstacles, it would work towards the subject's advantage to increase the density and strength of said structure. That hypothesis was correct and mutation successfully augmented the subject's combat capabilities, only too well. Regular maintenance of the subject's enclosure is now required in more frequent intervals to ensure Ripley remains contained.

Epidermal Callousing and Regenerative Cell Growth: The subject's skin has hardened into a protective structure, creating a hardened mesoskeletal that protects Ripley from a variety of hazards, in particular small arms fire and extreme temperatures. The shell has pale-off white coloration and a texture similar to hardened silicon, and, while the shell is both thick and strong, light esily penetrates the shell, revealing portions of the subject's vascular, musculature, and skeletal systems. A side effect of the mutation, however, has been the complete disappearance of any and all hair across the subject's body.

Neutral Mutations

Vocalization Inhibitor/Exhibitor: Subject has developed unexpected musculature within its throat and jaw during the final months of its development. As of now the purpose of this musculature remains unknown. However, recent reports have stated that Ripley has been attempting to mimic sounds that it frequently hears as these muscles develop. Further analysis is required.

Your role in the thread will be largely detached from traditional combat roles.

As I said prior: a single UV Mutant is meant to be a hazard for multiple armed combatants at once. You, being s single entity, would die. Likely immediately.

Instead, if you'll humor me, I intend on putting you in a sort of 'spectator's seat'. You'll observe the carnage from cameras, direct the mutants in certain directions with the use of laser targetting, and help achieve Clandestine's primary goal of containing the UV Mutants.

Subject: Watch me Whip -- Whip, watch me ...

Negative Mutations:

1.       Irregular Spine Formation (-2) Spinal torsion caused by unfavorable coding makes standing upright impossible, forcing subject to crawl. Occasional paralysis of limbs possible.

Positive Mutations:

Name: Nae-nae

Height: 6’4”

BMI: 17

Profile: If subject could stand-up straight the most striking feature would be just how extremely disproportionate its limbs are from the rest of its body. However, due to the irregularly formed spine, it remains in a hunched position crawling on all fours, which makes it look significantly smaller than it really is. Gangly quadrupedal limbs with a hunched frame give it something of a canine aesthetic which is only further supported by the misshapen skull. Although its facial features might better be described as resembling a deer skull than dog or wolf.

Although its body is mostly a dull gray, the top of its head is adorned with several thin matte black barbed tendrils that are reminiscent of dreadlocks. Additionally, two larger tentacles are affixed to either side of its spine on the trapezius, their ends terminating in a boney spur that is best described as axe like.

Even though the subject boasts an impressive healing factor, excessive wear on the skin of its toes and hands has resulted in phalanges being exposed.

Don't disappoint.

-----

Codename: Johnny Topside

Classification: Close range tanker

Height: 12'

BMI: 45.9

Notes: Subject Delta, formerly Johnny Topside, is very aggressive and will focus the target first however if a much smaller ally is sensed to be in danger it will fly into an extremely intense blind rage and seems to turn focus off their own target and onto to the ally and assist them any way it can. After smaller ally is deemed 'safe' it will return as normal and focus on it's own target As the guard I'm unsure what genetics they used but it seems to not even truly be a specific creature mutation but more off instinct.
Side Note: Right forearm seems to be missing and have been replaced with a sharpened crystalline structure.

Positive Mutations

Enhanced Keratin Devlopment: Unexpected diversion of cell growth to keratin development results in constantly growing teeth, nails and hair. As per prior coding, nails grows significantly thicker, and modular differences to biological synthesis results in sharper, thicker claws.
