Welcome to it! A note:

Your introduction would be fine if this was just a club somewhere or something like that but this particular event is happening on a secure military base. A drifter wouldn't be able to casually breach the perimeter and go picking for food

I suggest you rework your introduction to the following - your drifter character joins the military for the financial security that it provides, and he came to the party just for the food. This would give him the clearance needed to be able to enter the base and fits into the motivations you've already outlined

It's not required ofc, but your character is probably in for a more pleasant night with the above suggestion. Nicotine himself is not about to start a fight, but he's a bit of a dick aaand obviously there's about as much security on base water in a lake.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, my suggestion above is on what a rework could look like, not on whether a rework is needed

Maelstrom - also worth noting is that in the first post I specified that the event is limited to military personnel. If you missed that part it may not be a roleplay you're interested in at all and otherwise just let me know what you want to do

It's absolutely ok!

In terms of bottom line you're definitely not wrong, I just also hold the opinion that as a game played mostly through writing that editing / revision is part of the game, one of the tools we have available to us to enhance the play rather than taking it as a flat negative

1. Emile is a Sergeant after the ceremony

2. He is not called Longshot. Longshot is what the Lagrimosan Military calls snipers. So technically he is a Longshot, but you probably wouldn't call him that conversationally.

Ahh good, I considered using language to avoid using those words since I was not sure on their authenticity but it felt unattural so I just winged it. I'm gunna update that. Glad it got good feedback, I was worried Nicotine was being way too agressive.

The idea to beat right now is a pleasant trip to a vineyard, I think that would be neat - those who wouldn’t like it can give it, say, to their families (looking at you Emile) or use it to curry social favor with the weird organic gasbags that like drinking the juice of fermented fruit (looking at you Nicotine) 

Anyone?
