Houndy Poochykins 544 Posted December 28, 2020 Dia followed and once arrived she took the aesthetic in. She had a bomb to drop on him... but... she needed the money. "So I ain't got much in the way of collateral... and im not giving you the sword, guns, or... whatever else i have to offer on me..." She said. "But I need a little loan from the coffers... to get my place standing... and enough to put some other shit in place" she drank her whiskey quickly. Stuff never hit her that fast. Or hard... "So I got myself an estimate... and I'm just waiting to hear back... should be comin' by here actually... he's got the deets" She shrugged. She didn't have her sword or guns with her. She would rise and drop the coat, underneath was the black tank top. She stirred the class in a circle, in the classic 'this is good shit to move in a circle' style. "I don't expect it'll be cheap though" she added. "I'm good for it, a job or two at my rate a month... should have whatever nutso fuckso number the people at build-a-bear bar and club edition come back with" she said. "-an I smoke in here?" she asked, pulling one out. 1 1 notmuch_23 and danzilla3 reacted to this
danzilla3 5018 Posted December 28, 2020 John chuckled, "Rest assured, I seek neither your guns or sword or. Of course, there are other things that interest me... but I would never use them as a bargaining chip." At her inquiry about smoking, John would produce a lighter seemingly out of nowhere and light the cigarette for her. Pulling a smoke of his own from a case in his breast pocket, he lit up and took a deep drag before continuing. "I've never been all that interested in money- which I know is something that only people with money say, but it's true. What I seek from life is simple; amusement. To that end, I try to surround myself with fascinating people; like yourself for example. Oh, I'm sure there's no end to the wonderful stories you could tell; and one day I intend to hear them. In the meantime, consider your financing a down payment on the excitement I'm sure your presence will bring to my city; as well as myself." 1 Houndy Poochykins reacted to this
Houndy Poochykins 544 Posted December 28, 2020 "Well if there's one thing i know about money..." She inhaled and let out the cancer fumes. "It's that everyone likes it. and everyone wants it..." She said. "Even those who don't like it, like it." she added. "It's gonna be a big place, I'm using nearly all of that lot over there." She explained. Then a thought crossed her mind. She pulled her phone out, and sent the Singlances a message. "Scratch the garage, I'm finding somewhere else. That building will be a VIP lounge instead." Before looking up to him. "I think I need a garage to park everything i'm interested in gathering" she said. "So the first floor is gonna be the bar, dance floor, and stage." She said. "Second is living space, that'll probably double as a more private area" She said finishing the cigarette. "Second sides gonna be a private lounge." She said. "A VIP area" she added. 1 danzilla3 reacted to this
notmuch_23 2300 Posted December 28, 2020 Aveline just pulled into her assigned space in the non-public part of the "right" side parking garage, and Thurgood is already on the phone with his go-to structural engineering form when he gets the text from Dia. "Hold in, that may be a text from my customer," Thurgood says as he swipes down from the top to see the notification. 12 minutes ago, Houndy Poochykins said: Scratch the garage, I'm finding somewhere else "Yep," Thurgood tells the conference room, "no more mostly-detached garage; whole lot will be a single two-story building. Don't think that'll make a difference in the awkward position the foundation is in." ... "Yeah; that soil canNOT shift under the building." ... "Did y'all see how close the infrastructure is? If that hundred-thirty-two kilovolt line shifts, it'll put pressure on the subway tunnel, which is designed to take the pressure, and transfer it right to the sewer main. That fucker cracks, there's more than enough flow to make a sinkhole!" ... "Could we transfer the load onto like, four concrete columns that rest on bedrock?" ... "Yeah, I know it'll be costly, but if my customer wants a nightclub on that lot, they're gett'n one. It's only two stories; we ain't supporting a skyscraper here." ... "Yeah, I just need a rough estimate." ... "Okay, thank you; I'll tell you if the customer wants to go ahead with it. Bye." Thurgood then switches to the calculator app he's been keeping a running total of estimates on as he steps into the elevator, and punches that estimate in. During the last stop to buy some things for their living space, Aveline was able to call the interior design specialists that worked on the King's Fountain and got an estimate. Now Thurgood can text Dia back with a rough estimate of the project's cost. Rough estimate, depending on the details you want, is going to cost between 4k and 5k ounces of rhodium 1 danzilla3 reacted to this
Houndy Poochykins 544 Posted December 28, 2020 She got her info back from the contractor, "Well, looks like im look at close to 5,000 ounces of Rhodium, whatever that is." She shrugged. "Thats for the club and shit" she lit up another cigarette. "But I'll be looking for a large warehouse... for various things. Like a garage and storage... multiple floors to be exact. Large enough that i can store a few things that move with fuel" she said. "So, I'm gonna ballpark.... around 8 thousand ounces?" she said. "that's to cover operation costs and stuff" she added. "My normal gig back home was a consultation of a thousand dollers... which went towards the 8-10 per head that I charged for the actual gig" she said. "Since I don't have my bike, or a car here in this coolworld, I'm in that market too" she said. "Startin' from scratch is a bitch and a half" she said. "speakin' of... looking for a peddler of things not of this world... for nostalgia" she exhaled the last fume after several minutes of talking. "if you got anything you need Killin' send me the details" she added. 1 danzilla3 reacted to this
danzilla3 5018 Posted December 29, 2020 "Eight thousand, eh?" John mused, "Let's just up it to ten, round things out." Reaching into his breast pocket, John produced a small datapad and began to type. "Right then, I can transfer the sum to your account, or I can pay the Singlance's directly if you would prefer. Don't worry about interest or anything like that; as I said, I'm not doing this for financial return. I don't currently have any problems that require your particular set of skills; but should I ever require someone in the demon hunting business, you will be my first call." Once he had Dia's answer, he would make the necessary transfer before tucking the pad back into his pocket. Then he offered a genuine smile to the demon hunter as he poured them both more whiskey. "So, will you be celebrating?" he inquired. 1 Houndy Poochykins reacted to this
Houndy Poochykins 544 Posted December 29, 2020 "May as well transfer them five thousand." She said. "The other five... I'll spend the rest myself on some other things." She leaned back. "Be nice to find a dealer in town that had some stuff from back home" she said. "At least my friend can watch my apartment while I'm gone." she said. "It won't be built in a day" she took her drunk and downed it quickly. A good whiskey was a short supplied commodity. "Celebrate how?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. "I can probably out party anyone in this place" she added, before looking at the empty glass. "You don't seem to be my wisest investor" she noted bluntly. "Usually there's something else a man with that kind of money wants, if it isn't more money, its something money doesn't buy on its own" she added. "You wouldn't happen to be... one of these people" she said, "no ulterior motive... nothing thats gonna come for me later?" she asked. 1 danzilla3 reacted to this
danzilla3 5018 Posted December 29, 2020 "If you mean, 'Would I like to make love to you,' the answer is yes." John sipped his whiskey before continuing, "But I assure you, that my personal desires are quite separate from my business ventures. I would never ask someone to compromise their principles to receive my help. My motives in helping you start your business are as I stated before. I find you interesting. Plus, attracting new businesses to this city is a part of my job as the governor. Admittedly, I am not always as generous as I have been today, but I do my best to encourage economic growth." Another glass down, and another round of refills, "As for how you might celebrate... well, I myself am a fan of the old staples of booze, drugs, and sex." 1 Houndy Poochykins reacted to this
Houndy Poochykins 544 Posted December 29, 2020 "Well at least they don't get in your way... because they would have just now" She chuckled. Her eyes had some sort of eeriness to them. She didn't understand fully what she was. She had small details. She knew she'd once been run over as a child and in days had healed fine. It wasn't serious as it sounded to some apparently. But the crimson sheen to them gave of something... unhindered. One could broach the subject if they felt brave enough. But truth be told it would yield no more unknown info than asking a horse about something directly just because of the old phrase, 'straight from the horses mouth'. Spoiler, it wouldn't because horses don't talk. "I would celeberate with good alcohol, and maybe a hit of some devil lettuce." she said. "Not to spoil your fun, but this pair doesn't open as often as some might want it to" she said, "As for the remaining 5,000 ounces..." She took her glass. "I actually don't have a bank roll open here" she said. "Fresh outta my home... dimension?" she asked with a shrug. "Any local dealers in town? I need some wheels" she said, 1 danzilla3 reacted to this
danzilla3 5018 Posted December 29, 2020 "No need to worry about my fun," he assured her, "Life is sometimes disappointing. But as for party favors..." John knelt down to retrieve a metal box the size of a large suitcase from beneath the bar. Upon opening it, all manner of drugs were revealed, along with a slip of paper with a few lines of writing on it. The Governor picked up the note, the handwriting immediately recognizable. Happy birthday Jack. A little something to help make the day a bit more fun. I know you don't care about your birthday, but I care about you; and today is a chance for the people who care about you to show the depth of their affection. We'll sample some of these once the children are off to bed. Your loving wife, Patricia. Reading the letter caused John's normally unshakable smile to fade almost entirely from his face for a few seconds. He looked like a man who was in great pain; but had no idea what to do with the feeling. Suddenly he seemed to remember he wasn't alone, and his grin reappeared. Folding up the letter, he put it in his jacket pocket before turning his attention back to Dia. "Take anything you like. We have a bit of everything; cannabis, and more besides. As for vehicles, there are a few dealers in town. Looking for anything in particular?"
Houndy Poochykins 544 Posted December 29, 2020 "Particular?" She asked. "a 1970 super bird, a 1942 panhead deluxe, 1938 power wagon, all of which aren't in this world" She said. "Got into a fight with some weird demon, got sent here somehow... portals are weird" she said. "I got a thing for old cars, ya know?" she asked. "Something about old stuff, made a league above the modern stuff." she shrugged. "I'll partake in some cannabis but I don't touch the other stuff..." she said. "Not anymore anyway..." she explained. "I woke up on more floor once, there was a riding crop on the floor, and judging by how sore my knees and ass were I'm pretty sure it was me gettin' smacked" she said. "Anyway, enough 'bout college." she said. "My exotic taste not withstanding" She added, "I need something to get around on" she said. She didn't pester with the note. Usually if someone was willing to sleep around there was something deeper behind it. And it wasn't happening anyway. "Firearms dealer too..." She said, getting the cannabis ready. 1 danzilla3 reacted to this
danzilla3 5018 Posted December 29, 2020 "Ah, you want objects originating from your home dimension." Valucre's unique position in the fabric of space and time allowed it to serve as an interdimensional crossroads that allowed travel both intentional and not from other worlds. It was not unusual to make the acquaintance of a person who was not native to this world. The Singlance's themselves had come from another world; and seemed to be intent on replicating as much of it as they possibly could. Objects ranging from trinkets to treasures also ended up on Valucre, and collectors were not unheard of. "I can point you in the direction of a man who collects such things; though I can't guarantee that they will have what you seek." Opening a drawer behind the bar, John produced the remaining ounces and tossed it to Dia. "Now then. I believe I'll have another drink."
Houndy Poochykins 544 Posted December 30, 2020 "That would be great" she said as they partook. She didn't do much else besides smoke and drink. The drinking never seemed to be enough. Not out of some depression or pain it could never numb enough. It literally wasn't very strong, not compared to how hard it would hit a human. It was the same with drugs. While technically one could intake enough THC to kill themselves, it was so outlandishly unlikely, that she'd never heard of it even being close to happening. She thought the calculation was having to intake your bodyweight in cannabis. In about half an hour. She could only imagine someone with a literal car sized bag of the stuff. There had to be worse ways to go than higher than a blackbird spying on the Russians. She got a small chuckle out of the sheer ridiculousness of the idea. Overdosing on pot? puh-leaze. "Well It looks like no one else is going to join us, to make some money tonight" She lit up the next roll of green. " 'nless you got someone you wanna call, and tell em 'hey crazy chick has a shit ton of money to spend' or somethin" she said. 1 danzilla3 reacted to this
