Malaysia NightReaver 582 Posted March 12, 2021 (edited) How long had it been? Days, weeks, months? The whole situation seemed like a long, horrible nightmare. Malaysia had been repeatedly tortured at the hands of their enemies; consistently drained of her blood only to be restored again. They kept her weak; until they didn't. She was rescued by Ayden and Alukai. Her husband and brother were such a welcome sight, and seeing them ignited a forgotten fire within the Imperial Goddess. She was in for the fight of her life and she had to give it one last go, because unlike the memories that she had been plagued with for months, this was real. Alukai and Ayden were actually in the Underworld, they were within arms reach, and they had come to save her. Together they succeeded and escaped back to Vdara, and once landing on the cold floor of their throne room, and before she and Ayden were carried away to the infirmary, Malaysia had caught a glimpse of her children before passing out; Aremis and Anastasia were alive. Her suffering was not in vain. The next few days were a blur and despite having her enhanced healing abilities, fatigue and exhaustion wore her thin. Malaysia did not want to wander far from Ayden as he continued to rest and recuperate, but she did wish to feel the sunlight on her face. Wrapped up in a navy blue robe, bare feet hit the golden tile floor of their bed chamber where both she and Ayden had been moved to under the watchful care of their physicians. It was more comfortable here for them and their physicians felt it would be a welcome site after all the king and queen had been through. With a soft glance over her shoulder, she looked at her husband, as if to make sure that he was still there and that this as not some evil trick or dream. She thought about reaching out to touch him, to reassure herself of his tangible form, but she did not want to wake him. Pushing off from the mattress, Malaysia slowly made her way through the double wide french doors that led the the balcony. Long, navy blue curtains danced in the cool morning breeze while rays of sunlight poured down on her. Crimson tears welled up in closed eyes as she felt the warmth of the sun hit her skin, and she let out a huge sigh. Just like everything else, it was all very surreal. While being held captive, the thought of never being able to see her family and her home again crossed her mind several times. Deep blue hues opened, releasing her tears as they slid down her face leaving bloodied streaks in their wake. Her hands grasped the bannister to support herself as the she leaned heavily into it. Her shoulders shuttered, Malaysia wept.. in fear and in relief. Edited March 12, 2021 by Malaysia NightReaver 1 Mystic_Lhoth reacted to this
Mystic_Lhoth 147 Posted March 12, 2021 Some debts never came fast enough for Lhoth to collect in the world he found himself in, things had taken a turn for the worst in the world. Clad in his finest silks, he wore a blue mask over his face as his dark green eyes scanned over the horizon of the woods of a tree he had bonded with nearby. Lhoth knew something was here that demanded his immediate attention, worst yet - he needed to find that which had evaded him for a long time his Crystal. The world was running afoul, and the damned familiar had taken off again at the worst time conceivable. The Tree's had warned Lhoth to avoid breathing the mists, and consider the blessing of the ancient Aurora Borealis that corresponded with the bond that kept ghosts alive, and well. Few knew that Tree's supplanted that bond naturally since they were born of both Gaia, and the planet itself. It wasn't a secret the woods gave willingly mind you, as a child, Lhoth proved himself by healing an ancient Tree, for xenophobic elves. These exchanges more often turned into Adventures for Lhoth, not that he minded the extra effort to earn his way in the world. Lhoth moved ever faster to re-aquire what he'd lost due to that foul little familiar that came with the crystal, the tree's had seen him wandering this way for whatever reason. Truly Lhoth hoped to keep as few people involved on this as possible so he could find a way to get out of this world while he had the chance, he'd packed for the occasion, and left his home behind. All the while he had managed to get his hands on some good weapons from a capable Elve. Lhoth managed to pack a lot of his life away in his over-sized backpack he carried that he'd crafted in his spare time. Lhoth had a few things in mind before he left the world behind from what the tree's told him Humans were talking about a new land beyond the maelstrom. He hoped to find a way out of this doomed world so Lhoth could conceivably carry on in a new world according to the talk among townsfolk. Shaking his head Lhoth truly didn't want to leave but life was all the more precious to hold on to he rationalized. Lhoth in the back of his mind questioned the validity of talking down a captain to sail to the other side just to escape the damned doom of this world. In the mean time Lhoth wondered if this was a mistake, or if he was right in trying to gather people in order to escape. All the while he wasn't too proud of having to consider a mutiny as a means of escape. Seemed like a cheap way to have to prolong the inevitable. Since Lhoth had nothing against causing a problem in order to live it was a simple choice really - but it would require a crew anyway. For Lhoth to have any chance of bringing in decent companions to pull off this crazy plan - he had to use people like a wizard. Lhoth was not fond of magic, or his other abilities for the simple fact that a strong warrior never revealed their tricks. C'est la vie. 1 Malaysia NightReaver reacted to this
Malaysia NightReaver 582 Posted March 14, 2021 Malaysia was a mess. Whereas on any normal occasion the Imperial Goddess often presented with a perfect appearance, she was anything but at this moment. Long black hair was frayed and tangled, crimson streaks stained her face from her tears, and her body was riddled with discolored bruises and cuts. The Underworld had did their number on the Queen, the type of weapons, methods and magic that was used was unlike anything she had ever encountered, and her body was unsure on how to heal it. As her momentary break down came to an end, trembling hands slowly loosened their grasp on the bannister. Sapphire hues slowly opened as she took in the lovely view that was their city, the city that they have been charged to look after. A brief thought passed over to Anastasia and Aremis, she wondered how her children were doing and how they have fared in their parents absence. Then she remembered that her brother, Morce’ had stayed behind to help them with guidance. Eventually she would summon Morce’ to her to catch up on the details, but now was not the time. Her own senses told her that Ayden was still resting peacefully, it had become a habit to check on him what felt like every few minutes just for reassurance purposes. Sometimes she would have to pinch herself to make sure that this was still real, that is wasn't some trick played on her by the Underworld. Taking a deep sigh, she felt weak. Her body was tired and worn, and she really wanted to go back to bed but she felt compelled to start resuming her duties. She had to know what was going on with Vdara and if there was anything that warranted her immediate attention. She had to get back to her life, to protecting their family and kingdom as she had pledged to do when she and Ayden claimed this place. Perhaps it was her way of coping with her trauma, throwing herself back into her work. She turned to go back inside she and Ayden's chambers to change. There was much to tend to.
